Dr. Agbu Kefas, the governor of Taraba State, submitted the budget proposal for the fiscal year 2024, totaling ₦311,388,525,661.96 to the State House of Assembly on Friday.
The budget for 2024 was tagged “Moving forward,” with the majority of the administration’s priority sectors being the health, education, and governance sectors.
In his opinion, the 2024 budget would guarantee the state’s adoption of responsible financial management techniques in order to accomplish sustainable growth, better service delivery, and an improvement in the general welfare of the populace.
“Total Recurrent Expenditure is estimated at ₦111,679,595,358.59) only representing 35.9%,” the governor stated. This is composed of only ₦56,659,880,300.48 in total personnel costs and ₦55,019,715,058.10 in total other recurrent costs.
The assembly will continue to support the executive branch of government in order to accomplish the necessary development, according to Bonzena, who also revealed that Tarabans now have transformative hope thanks to Kefas’s developmental agenda of the last six months.
