Hilda Baci, a.k.a. Nigerian chef Hilda Effiong Bassey, has disclosed that she is not interested in a man who can cook.
She emphasized that one way she would like to show her partner her love is through cooking, and she explained that she loves to cook.
The former Guinness World Record holder declared that she would much rather have her man place her food orders than cook for her.
Hilda Baci elaborated on her love of cooking, saying that she would be willing to wake up at midnight to make dinner for her partner.
Speaking in a now-viral podcast video that was circulated on X (previously Twitter), Baci declared, “I don’t want a man who can cook. It’s not what I want. I have a great love for cooking. My friends would tell you that Hilda would send you food as a way to express her love for you. You’ll prepare meals for yourself. That’s kind of what I enjoy doing for the people in my life, particularly my partner.
“You can say, ‘Baby, I want a doughnut,’ and wake me up in the middle of the night. Meat pie is what I want. And to prepare it for you, I’m taking off for the kitchen. That’s what I like to do. A man who can order me food is what I want. I’m in love if you can order me food without giving me any trouble.
Baci broke the previous record for the longest cooking marathon in June of this year, finishing at 93 hours and 11 minutes.
In November, Irish chef Alan Fisher broke the record at his Irish-themed restaurant in Matsue, where he cooked for 119 hours and 57 minutes.
In response to the record, Baci states that she is still the record holder in both history and spirit.
I can attest to the fact that setting such a record is no small accomplishment. I am incredibly grateful to Alan for all of his hard work in reaching this level of success. Recognizing improvement is part of being a sportsman, whether or not the achievement is listed in my bio. In both history and spirit, I continue to hold records. Let’s honor accomplishment and the spirit of rivalry.”I’ve updated mine as well, just as Chef Lata politely acknowledged the new record holder by updating her bio and then improving the wording.
