Officers and men of the Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS) have received a warning from Mr. Haliru Nababa, the Controller General, not to jeopardize their job.
At a one-day lecture held in honor of International Anti-Corruption Day 2023 in Abuja on Thursday, Nababa issued the warning.
In honor of the 2023 International Anti-Corruption Day, the event was planned by the NCoS unit Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit (ACTU) in association with the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Matters Commission (ICPC).
The head of NCoS issued a warning, saying that anyone found guilty would be subject to the full force of the law.
He claimed that in order to demonstrate the extent of the harm corrupt practices had caused the nation, Nigerian leaders had recently given the anti-corruption campaign top priority in their policy directives.
He continued by saying that Nigeria’s current ranking in the global corruption perception index further highlighted the position.
“The NCoS has embraced this strong anti-corruption stance of the Federal Government in fulfilling its statutory mandate, based on the aforementioned evidence,” he stated.
