The legendary player for Manchester United, Dwight Yorke, has advised the team not to recruit former Arsenal striker Donyell Malen.
Yorke said that a transfer involving Jadon Sancho and Malen between Man United and Borussia Dortmund would be a financial waste.
He said that Malen—who is currently a player for Dortmund—would not help Erik ten Hag’s team.
Remember, Sancho hasn’t played for Man United since August. It looks certain that he will depart the Premier League team in January, either permanently or on loan.
The possibility of a Malen and Sancho trade has been discussed as Man United considers their options.
Donyell Malen is someone I haven’t seen much of, but I know he’s scored goals in the Bundesliga. Though not enough has been seen of him to form an opinion, Yorke told Instant Casino that “he seems like a decent player.”
United must not squander money on players who won’t strengthen the team. Before I sign someone, my primary concern is that I want to become a coach.
The team’s trajectory will not change if this player doesn’t improve to a higher level in the role he plays.
“United need to sign players who can win football games and who can handle the pressure of the club,” he continued.
