Rio Ferdinand, a former defender for Manchester United, claimed that Wayne Rooney was his worst teammate ever.
Ferdinand and Rooney won multiple trophies at Old Trafford, including Premier League and Champions League ones. Ferdinand has since revealed, though, that they used to fight a lot when they were playing.
“To be honest with you, Wayne Rooney is the worst team-mate I have probably had the most arguments with,” Ferdinand stated in the most recent episode of the BBC podcast, which was hosted by rugby league legend Rob Burrow.
“It happened on the field, never on the battlefield.
“On match day, we probably argued once every two or three games, effing and blinding, screaming at each other because I wanted more from him. We never really argued in training.”
