In Ilorin, the capital of Kwara State, a fire broke out in the wee hours of Wednesday, destroying property valued at roughly N22.4 million.
The fire happened in Tanke-Oke Odo, which is located along University of Ilorin Road in the state’s Ilorin South Local Government Area, at around 01:30.
This occurs just a few hours after another fire broke out in the Tanke neighborhood at Zion Overcomer, which is located across from Suleiman Durosyloun House.
“Our firefighters successfully extinguished the fire that engulfed 16 metal kiosks and affected seven shops upon arrival,” stated Hassan Adekunle, the state fire department spokesman.
He claimed that a power surge was to blame for the fire occurrence.
Prince Falade John Olumuyiwa, Director of the Kwara State Fire Service, has called on everyone to exercise caution.
