Initiatives for housing and urban development in the diaspora will receive assistance, according to the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development.
During a courtesy call in Abuja, the Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, revealed this to Abike Dabiri-Erewa, the Chairperson of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), and her delegation.
Dangiwa claims that the Ministry is also committed to helping the NiDCOM achieve its objective of enabling Nigerians living abroad to purchase real estate in Nigeria.

Dangiwa claims that the Ministry is also committed to helping the NiDCOM achieve its objective of making sure that Nigerians living abroad can purchase property in Nigeria.
Over the years, NiDCOM has supported a number of projects and programs that are assisting our nation in utilizing the enormous potential of its diaspora for national development.
He stated, “We have over 20 million Nigerians living abroad who send home an average of over $24 billion annually.”
The minister added that as part of a public-private partnership with NiDCOM, the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), and the Federal Housing Authority (FHA), the FHA has committed to construct the Diaspora City Project.
Approximately 675 hectares of land in Maitama 2 are occupied by the project.
