A man allegedly kills himself after losing N2.5 million on a wager.
He had taken the insecticide earlier, without anyone reading the post knowing, and that was why he made the announcement.
He expressed gratitude to a few people in his post, stating, “Today is my last day on earth! I am about to meet my creator. Ikukuoma Abia, Kelvin Jombo Onumah, Ekwueme Ohafia, Chima Anyaso, and my friends are all appreciated. I’m thinking of you all.
Friends heard of Onoh’s distress and hurried him to Madonna Hospital in Umuahia.
But despite the medical professionals’ best efforts, he did not make it through.
After losing N2.5 million to gambling, a man allegedly commits suicide.
According to reports, Onoh could not take the pressure and embarrassment from people he borrowed money from after he was said to have lost N2.5 million through betting.
A friend who had heard of his passing conveyed her sadness and described the doctors’ inept attempts to bring him back to life.
Another Facebook user questioned the deceased’s choice, pointing out that Onoh borrowed N1.5 million to place a losing wager, which ultimately brought about his terrible demise from debtors’ humiliation.
Onoh Chukwuma, wrote Facebook user Ibeako Esther Chisom. Richard, I’m devastated. I saw the nurses and doctors pressuring you to try to pull through, but they were all unsuccessful, and you stopped when the doctor announced that you were dead in front of me and your friends.
Chukwuma Onoh Richard, by ending your own life, you truly undermined God’s plans for you. Go to sleep. I’m devastated.
“U had 1m and borrowed 1.5m to play bet, it failed, cuz of the shame from debtors you took your life?” wrote another user, Obika James Abuchi. Who taught you this, Onoh?
Since then, friends have sent condolences via his Facebook page.
