All Progressives Congress (APC) leader Adamu Garba has stated that Nyesom Wike would not exist as the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) if he didn’t hold his current role.
He claims that it is the one item that retains Wike’s political capital.
According to Garba, “the loyalty from his current team cannot be guaranteed if Wike ceases to be FCT minister.”
On Monday, he revealed this in a post on his X Twitter.
Garba cautioned APC to exercise caution so as not to inherit unwarranted animosity from the populace.
The declaration came after Rivers State’s political unrest, which resulted in the recent defection of 27 PDP lawmakers to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The FCT Minister position is currently the sole item retaining Wike’s political capital. His existing team’s allegiance cannot be assured should he step down as FCT minister.
Above all, Rivers State is a conventional PDP jurisdiction. The traditional rulers in Rivers, the majority of establishments, and the general populace have all supported the PDP, the author stated.
For the sake of our future electoral successes, he said, “we must be careful not to inherit some unnecessary enmity from the people we truly need.”
