In relation to the purported fabrication of its clearance for the shipping of 150,000 liters of suspected tainted fuel, the Nigerian Navy has detained three individuals.
During the suspects’ surrender to the Nigeria Police Force on Tuesday in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Commodore Desmond Igbo, Commander of the Nigeria Navy Ship (NNS) Pathfinder, made this announcement.
According to him, one of the three suspects pretended to be a navy official and gave the MV Mother Gabrini a falsified naval oil permission.
MV Mother Gabrini was detained by forces stationed at Forward Operating Base (FOB) Bonny on November 8th, after allegations of engaging in unlawful bunkering activities.
The crew produced a forged NNS Pathfinder oil approval during the preliminary inquiry, causing the base to move quickly to capture those responsible for forging our license.
“After a one-week sustained intelligence-led operation, three suspects (who forged the oil approval) were trailed and arrested at different locations,” he stated.
Igbo claims that Vice Adm. Emmanuel Ogalla, the Chief of Naval Staff, has asked soldiers to stop engaging in any unlawful action in the country’s maritime environment.
According to his findings, robbers were carrying more and more petroleum items covertly on rivers by utilizing fraudulent permissions.
The naval commander reported that when forces searched Nweale’s apartment, they found two camouflage outfits, additional military uniforms, and objects that may be used as evidence.
He continued by saying that the navy had started moving to capture any illegal bunkerers and oil thieves in the state and was pleading with them to desist from their unlawful activities.
