Popular musician Adedamola Adefolahan, also known as Fireboy DML, has disclosed the reason why, despite packing stadiums throughout the globe, Nigerian artists seldom ever tour the nation.
He claimed that although Nigerian music is “perfect,” touring the nation is challenging due to the lack of organization.
The artist recently talked in an interview with Kayode Oladotun, also known as Do2dtun, of Cool FM Nigeria in Lagos.
“Afrobeats to the world,” everyone says, according to Fireboy. The music is perfect. However, there isn’t any framework.
“They [the overseas fans] are hearing our songs, but when are they coming to Lagos to see us live? When will Lagos have arenas where we can host visitors from all over the world? Structure, you know, will make everything just easier.
When asked whether he believed Nigerian fans would be able to afford stadium events, he replied, “Yes, they will.” We’re here already.
All we have to do is offer them a reason to pay. People in Lagos would be willing to pay ticket prices if a good arena was constructed because they would feel secure.
