Chelsea’s captain, Reece James, is expected to miss more time due to injury, and former player Jason Cundy feels bad for him.
James’s lackluster fitness record has been a hindrance to his quality, contributing to his recent spate of injuries.
As evidence of his caliber and value to the squad, England’s defender was named Chelsea’s captain by manager Mauricio Pochettino.
However, he has not been able to play a regular role for the Blues this season due to injuries.
James was injured in the second half of the season last weekend during Chelsea’s 2-0 Premier League loss to Everton.
After playing just 26 minutes in the match at Goodison Park, the 24-year-old was replaced, and Cundy expressed sympathy for James, saying he knew what the right-back was going through having to retire early due to an injury.
“May we say something to Reece James? Sincerely, that poor kid left after 26 minutes once more, Cundy said to talkSPORT.
“I had injuries throughout my career, which forced me to retire early. Nothing is more unpleasant than returning and then attempting to return. I’m sorry for him.
