During his visit to Borno State on Monday, President Bola Tinubu once again offered his sympathies to the families of the Nigerians killed in the recent bombing incident in Tudun Biri, Kaduna State.
He mentioned that the Shadada, which is a fundamental tenet of Islam for practicing Muslims, was recited by the majority of the victims, who regrettably died while doing so.
“They were deeply religious Nigerians who were chanting the Shadada at the time of the incident. As the country mourns their entry into glory, God Almighty consoles their families. The President said, “May their souls rest in eternal peace.”
Speaking at Alhaji Abubakar Ibn Umar Garbai Al-Amin El-Kanemi, the Shehu of Borno, the President promised that the Federal Government would keep doing everything in its power to support and care for the families of all Nigerians impacted by the lingering insecurity in some areas of Borno State.
“This is my most sacred job, and since the new administration has taken office, the trajectory of the wider endeavor, as indicated by the ratio of triumph over failure, has been sliding nicely in our favor.
“We still don’t feel pleased. The President said, “Until the insecurity in Nigeria ends, we will not be pleased.
Under his leadership, Tinubu said, security considerations would continue to be of the utmost importance and would not be restricted to the battlefield.
“We will provide our brave military personnel and their families more facilities and perks. Our budget for 2024 takes this commitment into account.
“We will make sure that our administration, in the way we treat those who go above and beyond for us, reflects the grateful heart of the Nigerian people,” the President declared.
Babagana Zulum, the governor of Borno State, noted the consistent progress in cooperation between the government of Borno State and the security services.
“We have observed the tight collaboration that exists between the security agencies and our state. The outcomes are self-explanatory. In the ongoing battle against insecurity throughout Nigeria, we are steadfastly dedicated to realizing the goals set forth in the Renewed Hope Agenda. We appreciate your guidance, Mr. President. We will keep providing the Nigerian Armed Forces with all necessary support,” Zulum said.
Alhaji Abubakar Ibn Umar Garbai Al-Amin El-Kanemi, the Shehu of Borno, for his part, pleaded with the President to direct his infrastructure investments toward regions that have been severely affected by insurgency over the years.
In order to support the sizable settlements around Lake Chad, we aim to revive the Lake Chad Commission.
For our young people without jobs, we are looking for power projects and employment creation programs. Despite having little resources, Governor Zulum has been performing above and above what is humanly feasible. Kindly help him,” the Borno Shehu said.
