Alhaji Olanrewaju Adepoju, a well-known Yoruba activist, poet, author, writer, and artist, passed away.
Around 7 p.m., Lanrewaju Adepoju, as he was affectionately known, passed away in his Ibadan home at the age of 81.
Until his passing, he was the Aaare Alasa of Ibadan land.
In a brief statement obtained on Monday, one of the children of the late poet and activist Adejare Adepoju confirmed the deceased’s passing.
“Baba has gone to rest,” he declared.
