Senate Minority Leader Abba Moro has voiced his concerns with the dishonest and unpersuasive rulings that the court is producing on election petitions.
Speaking at the Benue State Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) Expanded Stakeholders Meeting in Makurdi, Moro spoke of the nation’s slow descent into “a state of nature” and the growing disrespect for the rule of law, citing in particular the disorganized rulings on election petitions.
He bemoaned that Nigerians were living through the worst possible circumstances due to the country’s crippling economy and problems with insecurity, particularly the depreciation of the Naira.
As the head of the Senate’s opposing political blocs, he declared that he will make efforts to guarantee that things are returned to normal.
Sir John Ngbede, Benue State PDP’s chairman, encouraged the party’s throngs of members and supporters to stick with it and stay dedicated in his speech.
Reminding them of the PDP’s unrivaled record of credible performance and its collaborative relationship with them since 1999, he said that PDP continues to be the preferred choice for the people of Benue.
Deputy governorship candidate for Benue PDP in 2023, Sir Ngbede, said that the party will continue to be run with the highest attention to duty, motivated by the awareness of its duty to the people to keep the current administration on its toes.
PDP candidate for governor of Benue State, Engr. Titus Uba, urged party members to maintain optimism over the likelihood of justice being served in his Supreme Court case, where he is contesting the Court of Appeal’s decision upholding Governor Hyacinth Alia’s election.
He conveyed his appreciation to the party’s leadership and members for their unwavering support during the legal battle.
