Officers from the Imo State Police Command have detained eighteen suspected members of the Indigenous People of Biafra in connection with the murders of two officers at Ahiara Junction in the Ahiazu-Mbaise Local Government Area of the state.
According to information obtained Online, the suspects attacked the police on Monday while they were pulling over to refuel. They were wearing military-style camouflage.
Additionally, information was obtained indicating the perpetrators intermittently fired as they pounced on the gullible police in three different cars.
The divisional police officer of Ahiazu-Mbaise and an inspector have been identified as the two officers slain in the incident, according to Henry Okoye, the police command’s spokesperson.
A total of eighteen individuals have been detained and are being investigated in the meanwhile.
