The goal assigned to Cross River State Governor Prince Bassey Otu is to focus on enhancing security inside the state.
The state capital of Calabar is seeing an increase in kidnappings and other criminal activity, according to recent reports.
The call was placed at the Nigeria Police Headquarters in Zone Six, Calabar, by oil magnate Elder Samuel Chukwudi.
Chukwudi stated, “Governor Otu should go above and beyond to bolster security in Calabar and other parts of the state because, in the absence of it, concerns about safety would continue to play in the minds of citizens, visitors, and residents. More tourists and vacationers are anticipated for the 32-day annual Calabar Carnival festival.
“Visitors and locals would be very scared when kidnapping and armed robbery continue to be prevalent.”
Nonetheless, the businessman made a hint that the state administration should be commended for taking on insecurity head-on over the past several months.
