Ismail Adeleke, the director of operations for the Oyo State Fire Service Agency, claims that the organization lacks the necessary infrastructure to run smoothly.
Adeleke brought up the issues with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ibadan, claiming that the agency’s inability to perform its tasks effectively was mostly due to a lack of staff, equipment, and facilities.
Adeleke complimented the state’s governor, Seyi Makinde, for making every effort on behalf of the agency. She also stated that the government was unable to meet the agency’s demands on its own and asked for the assistance of well-meaning citizens in the state.
“We have inadequate facilities, which presents problems.
“We have to give the governor credit; he purchased four utility cars and six firefighting trucks for us during his first term. This is why the Oyo State Government is making an effort.
However, as the state’s population grows daily and communities expand, our need must also be rising.
“Every day, there is an increasing need for fire stations, fire facilities, and fire equipment,” he stated.
