The federal government’s budgetary allotment for education has been requested to be increased by the National Teachers Institute (NTI), located in Kaduna.
After a three-day session at the NTI headquarters in Kaduna, this was revealed in a statement released on Thursday.
“Redirecting the Focus of Education Stakeholders Towards Modern Process of Producing Competent, Dedicated and Professional Teachers in Nigeria” was the conference’s theme.
The Institute’s director, Prof. Musa Garba-Maitafsir, signed the statement, which stated that among other things, the upward evaluation will support improvements in infrastructure, delivery, and general educational quality.
“All teachers’ compensation ought to be increased in accordance with the nation’s current economic realities,” it continued.
The declaration also mentioned variations in Nigerian teacher preparation programs, resource distribution, and application of effective teaching techniques.
