To create a ground-breaking farm estate in the state, Sun Farming, a well-known German agricultural company, and Niger State Governor Umaru Bago have inked a Memorandum of Understanding.
In a statement made available to reporters in Abuja on Thursday, Bago stated that the state’s cutting-edge Comprehensive Farm Estate is expected to be the result of the cooperative effort.
According to him, the deal called for the creation of a diverse farm estate encompassing several important domains.
Bago emphasized that by adding educational components, the enterprise went beyond traditional farming.
“Among the key features, a central crossing center is slated to be an integral component, facilitating the assimilation of newcomers into the agricultural community,” he said. “Moreover, the envisioned farm estate places a strong emphasis on energy sustainability, with plans to integrate renewable energy sources to power its operations.” Bago emphasized the initiative’s commitment to local production and distribution. He said that the proposed farm estate was aimed at significantly contributing to ensuring a stable and secure local food supply.
