Police officers removed members of the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria’s Osun State branch who were protesting on Wednesday when Chief Judge Adepele Ojo returned to her position.
In opposition to Ojo’s alleged misuse of power and haughtiness, demonstrators have blocked all activities in the State High Court since Monday.
However, Ojo entered the building on Wednesday, and the demonstrators who had left the entrance open went in the direction of the CJ’s car after noticing she had inside.
After using tear gas to scatter the demonstrators, police officers on the scene saw that the protestors had fled in all directions.
Following the event, Osun JUSUN Chairman Gbenga Eludire addressed the media and declared, “In light of the actions of the police and the Chief Judge’s attitude, I, Comrade Gbenga Eludire, hereby ordered that workers in the sector should withdraw their service until further notice.”
