In an effort to stop intellectual and creative property theft in Nigeria, the Nigeria Customs Service has said that it is willing to work with the Nigerian Copyright Commission (NCC).
At the Customs Corporate Headquarters in Abuja on Tuesday, CGC Bashir Adeniyi, the Comptroller-General of Customs, revealed this to the members of the Commission.
Greeting the group at his office, the CGC declared that via working together, the two sides would have the chance to leave a lasting legacy that will put an end to the threat of piracy in the nation.
He clarified that the Nigeria Customs Service has finalized plans to work with pertinent parties, improving its programs in every way through innovative activities and employee training.
“The program will introduce officers and men of the Service to new values and expertise that would enhance their capacity and morale to fight piracy,” the CGC stated in reference to the necessity of setting up training for the Service’s officers in the battle against piracy.
The country’s economic progress is greatly aided by the protection of creative and intellectual property, as the Comptroller-General of Customs expressed his sincere thanks for this partnership.
Prior to this, the delegation’s head and Director-General of the Commission, Dr. John Asein, thanked the Nigeria Customs Service for its continuous work and underlined the significance of combating intellectual property theft.
“We would like to congratulate you on your appointment as Comptroller-General CGC Bashir Adewale Adeniyi and extend our hands for collaboration to end piracy,” he stated.
“The commission will carry out its responsibilities by collaborating with the Nigeria Customs Service, in addition to enhancing the innovative abilities of officers and men in many sectors.”
