The Nigerian Army has sent cutting-edge equipment for operations around the nation in an effort to combat instability, according to Lt. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, Chief of Army Staff.
According to the army, the purpose of deploying sophisticated equipment is to strengthen the fight against terrorists, bandits, and other criminal forces that are producing instability in the nation.
In his remarks during the media chat organized by the Nigerian Army civil-military cooperation held in Sokoto on Wednesday, Lagbaja, who was represented by Major General Godwin Mutkut, the Garrison Officer Commander 8 Division, gave his assurance that the Nigerian Army will continue to implement strong strategies that span relevant measures across kinetic and non-kinetic lines of operations.
“With the finalization of the arrangements for more, I am happy to announce that the Nigerian Army has received some contemporary equipment and other combat enablers.
The recently implemented enhancements to our operational capability are being felt in multiple operational domains.
As per my leadership tenets, steps have been taken to guarantee that our soldiers possess the necessary skills and drive to effectively carry out their constitutional obligations.
“The result of these efforts is a notable uptick in the pace of all our operations throughout the theaters.”
The COAS further emphasized that the Nigerian Army’s deployment of troops across many theaters in all geopolitical zones of the nation was necessary in order to guarantee the prompt resolution of the security concerns.
He said that great care had been taken in the deployment to address the variety of security issues in the affected areas.
“It is important to state that, without the cooperation of some unpatriotic and dishonest members of society, the activities of non-state actors that aim to undermine the security, well-being, and collective prosperity of our country would be greatly degraded and almost nonexistent.”
However, he urged the media to refrain from unintentionally giving non-state actors the oxygen they need to flourish by publicizing their evil actions.
This is due to the fact that terrorists, rebels, and other outlaws are drawn to attention, feed off of fear mongering well-meaning folks, and propagate false information.
“Our combined efforts would ensure the successful eradication of insecurity and the restoration of peace in our society.”
But he clarified that in order to achieve true peace and security, all well-meaning people and organizations must properly harness their combined strength.
Lagbaja continued by saying that the best way to address the nation’s current security concerns is to use everyone’s combined strength as well as organizations working together to battle the nation’s common adversary on a national level.
He praised President Bola Tinubu for providing the Nigerian Army with constant strategic direction and resolute support since taking office.
The Nigerian Army Civil-Military Cooperation Media Chat aims to disseminate military activities to the general public and interact with the media in order to fortify and cultivate ideas that benefit both parties, according to Major General Nosakhare Ugbo, the Chief of Civil-Military Affairs, who also spoke at the event.
The relationship between the military and the media is seen as an essential component of the Nigerian army’s non-kinetic line of operation.
The relationship between the military and the media is regarded as vital to the Nigerian army’s non-kinetic line of operation and needs to be maintained flexible through regular interactions.
Thus, one of the many strategies for encouraging cooperation between the Army and media for the advancement of the country is the Nigerian Army Civil-Military Cooperation Quarterly Media Chat. It is hoped that this meeting would give the Nigerian Army and the media professionals and experts present a chance to talk about matters that will benefit both parties.
