On Tuesday, the Joint Task Force, North West Operation HADARIN DAJI forces freed thirty-one (31) kidnapped individuals from various locations in Sokoto State.
This was revealed by the Nigerian Army in a statement that was shared on its official X account on Wednesday.
The soldiers, led by Major General Godwin Mutkut, the General Officer Commanding 8 Division of the Nigerian Army in Sokoto, “have continued to intensify onslaught and conducted series of clearance operations to terrorist enclaves in its areas of operations in the North West,” according to the statement.
According to the announcement, 30 kidnapped individuals were freed from Alya Fulani community in the Buani woodland after an OPHD clearance operation on November 21, 2023, in Tangaza LGA, Sokoto State.
According to the explanation, all of the terrorists’ known hiding places were destroyed when they departed their camps before the hostile soldiers arrived and left their captives behind.
A statement said that the military also went to Goboro Village, where they freed a single kidnapped woman while the terrorists and bandits were forced to retreat in confusion as a result of the army’ superior firepower.
