Former governor Godwin Emefiele of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has been granted bail by a High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in Maitama.
He was granted bail in the sum of N300 million.
Emefiele must present two sureties, each of whom must have landed property in the Maitama District of the Federal Capital Territory, according to an order made by Justice Hamza Muazu on Wednesday.
After being placed on remand in Kuje Prison last week, Emefiele was not present in court for today’s sessions.
He had filed a basic human rights complaint against the federal government, and two weeks ago, another FCT High Court ordered his release.
It was decided by the court to postpone the trial until November 28.
