The Vice Chancellor of the Nile University of Nigeria, Abuja, Prof. Dilli Dogo, announced ahead of the 11th convocation in Abuja that no fewer than 84 of the 1,251 graduating students received first-class degrees.
Dogo mentioned that there will be 632 Post-Graduate graduates, 45 of them will receive Doctor of Philosophy degrees.
203 students received second class (honors) upper division degrees, 229 received second class (honors) lower division degrees, and just 10 received third class (honors) degrees, according to additional information provided by the VC on Tuesday in Abuja.
According to him, employability skills have been institutionalized thus far, and as of right now, 60% of graduates worldwide are employable. These skills should always come first on the list of services provided by the school.
“There will be forty-three medical graduates: eighty-four First Class, twenty-three Second Class, two hundred and twenty-nine Second Class, and ten Pass. In addition, 632 postgraduate students will be pursuing PhDs, 45 of whom.
“The institution’s enrollment quota has been raised from 50% to 100%. We have institutionalized the admission of 195 medical students for the upcoming session.This year, we constructed three enormous academic complexes. The only cutting-edge STEM building in Nigeria is one of them.
The Vice-Chancellor announced that two distinguished Nigerians, Dr. Mohammed Indimi, a business magnate, and Prof. Isaac Adewole, a former minister of health and professor of obstetrics, would receive honorary degrees in oil and petroleum engineering and medical sciences, respectively.
Prof. Sulaiman Bogoro, an education specialist and former executive secretary of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), will also give the convocation talk.
