Major-General Chris Alli, the outgoing Chief of Staff of the Army Staff from 1993 to 1994, has passed away.
In a statement sent by his Special Advisor, Chief Ajuri Ngelale, President Bola Tinubu expressed his condolences for the dead and called the tragedy that transpired on Sunday a huge loss.
The President expressed his condolences to the Alli family and the Nigerian Army, stating that the departed soldier had diligently served his nation.
I express my condolences to the Nigerian Army and the Alli family on the tragic passing of the former Chief of Army Staff. He honorably served his nation and retired with distinction.
The President prayed, “May the Almighty God rest his soul and grant his family the fortitude to bear the huge void.”
Before being promoted to Chief of Army Staff, Major-General Alli held many significant roles in the Nigerian Army, including Director of Military Intelligence (DMI).
