Despite the spike in inflation, the Central Bank of Nigeria has once again rescheduled its monetary policy committee meeting.
This is according to a report published by Bloomberg on Monday, which cited Dr. Isa Abdulmumin, the Director of Corporate Communications at the CBN, as saying in a text message response that “MPC is not holding” a meeting this week.
This is the second time that the meeting, which was supposed to take place on Monday and Tuesday after Olayemi Cardoso was elected governor in September, has been rescheduled.
With this most recent delay, experts and investors will have to wait a little while longer for Cardoso’s strategy to combat the rising inflation rate, which reached 27.33 percent in October 2023.
