Prof. Chukwuma Soludo’s bid to lose the governorship in 2025 has been ruled out by Ifeatu Obi-Okoye, the chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Anambra State.
In an interview with media in his Awka, the capital of Anambra State, the chairman stated that APGA was not concerned about the Obidient movement’s influence and insisted that it will eventually fade.
The obidient movement is a political organization that backs Mr. Peter Obi, the former state governor and presidential candidate of the Labour Party.
According to Obi-Okoye, the APGA has defeated Obi-sponsored candidates twice and will probably defeat anybody else he endorses before 2025.
“By Labour candidate, you mean Valentine Ozigbo, right?” he asked. Regretfully, that moniker has come to represent electoral failure. Should he decide to run, he will face off against his hometown rival from Aguata, Soludo.
Thus, I can state that APGA has defeated Obi twice, the ObIdient guy. We defeated him once more when he brought Oseloka Obaze, an Ogbaru native, and once more when he came Val Ozigbo.
“Igbo people should learn from the previous Obidient Movement and avoid repeating its mistakes. It was similar to what transpired when we launched an unprepared war against Nigeria in 1967. Ndigbo is unlikely to experience it again.
“The Obidient movement, which was centered on the desire to become president of Nigeria, will not exist in the Anambra gubernatorial race. It was unrelated to Peter Obi personally.
Obi-Okoye continued, saying that Soludo has been warned by APGA to focus on his good governance and provide high-quality infrastructure, which he said will ensure his win.
He claimed that the governor had a number of initiatives planned, all of which will come to fruition and speak for him by the end of the next year.
