The election of Bala Mohammed as governor of Bauchi State has been upheld by the Appeal Court located in Abuja.
Recall that the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) Bala was proclaimed the winner of the March 18 gubernatorial election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
However, Sadique Abubakar, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, disapproved with the election’s results and filed a lawsuit to get his rights back.
The election of Bala was upheld by the Bauchi State Governorship Election Tribunal, which denied the plea of the APC candidate.
Sadique, however, persisted that there were anomalies in the March 18 election and took the case all the way to the appeals court.
But in a unanimous decision on Friday, the three judges on the court maintained the tribunal’s decision.
