Two bandits were neutralized by the 1 Division Nigerian Army and Operation Whirl Punch during a clearance operation in the general region of Juji and Telele-Kaso in the Kaduna State local government area.
This was announced in a statement on Monday by Lt Col Musa Yahaya, Acting Deputy Director, Army Public Relations, 1 Division, Nigerian Army.
The statement claims that as the robbers saw the army approaching, they opened fire, but the forces’ superior and overwhelming weaponry defeated them.
While others ran away in confusion, the forces managed to neutralize two robbers in the process.
One AK-47 weapon, three AK-47 rifle magazines, five 7.62mm (special) rounds, two hand grenades built locally, four telephone handsets, two motorbikes, spanners, screwdrivers, and two bags were found by the forces.
Major General Valentine Okoro, the General Officer Commanding 1 Division of the Nigerian Army and Force Commander of Operation Whirl Punch, has appealed to the public to continue providing reliable information to the Nigerian Army and other security agencies in order to strengthen the fight against terrorism, banditry, and other criminal activities within the division’s purview.
