The Federal Government announced that it is looking into the Saudi authorities’ decision to revoke the visas of 264 travelers who were flown to Jeddah from Lagos and Kano on Sunday.
Al-Kasim Abdulkadir, the Special Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, stated in a statement that the Ministry is now looking into the situation to see whether any aviation or consular regulations have been broken.
It was also mentioned that Nigeria had just taken part in the Saudi-Africa conference, where the two nations had bilateral talks on a number of economic topics and made promises that would benefit both of them.
According to Al-Kasim, the Saudi authorities kept an eye on the passengers’ use of the Advanced Passengers Information System (APIS) during the Nigerian check-in procedures.
He added, however, it was learnt that when the Nigerian Embassy waded in, the Saudi Authorities decreased the number of people who would be repatriated to 177 from 264.
