Nigeria requires coordination among security services to create the necessary tranquility and expedite the administration of justice, according to Muhammad Usaini Gumel, the Commissioner of Police for Kano State.
In order to guarantee quick investigation and prosecution of criminal offenses, he said, it is necessary to effectively execute the Administration of Criminal Justice Law.
He made this revelation at the Officers Mess, Police Headquarters, Bompai, Kano, during the second iteration of Capacity Building Training for the State’s police and other security services on the Administration of Criminal Justice Law.
He stated that the police and other security personnel who carry out investigations and bring cases before a court of law would be trained and made more aware of how to utilize the new administration in the second part of the capacity development training.
According to him, the second round of capacity building training would teach and acquaint police officers and representatives of other security agencies that carry out investigations and bring cases before a court of law with the new administration’s criminal justice system in an efficient manner.
“The goal of this workshop is to prepare participants on the intricacies of criminal justice administration in order to guarantee that criminal cases were handled in accordance with the legal jurisdiction,” he stated.
He exhorted attendees to fully seize this excellent chance and to transfer the knowledge to their colleagues who work on criminal investigations and prosecutions.
The Kano High Court’s Justice Faruk Lawan stated that the session was really appropriate.
He stated, “All stakeholders should collaborate with one another to ensure effective implementation of the administration of criminal justice law, as this workshop came at the right time.”
