Former Central Bank of Nigeria governor Lamido Sanusi has challenged the current governor, Olayemi Cardoso, with implementing monetary policies to assist lower inflation and the sufferings that Nigerians endure.
Sanusi made the announcement in a statement issued after leading the Impact Investing Community team to the CBN Headquarters on Sunday.
With the appropriate monetary policies, he believes the apex bank’s operations may turn around the economic issues that Nigerians face.
He encouraged the CBN’s leadership to do all possible to alleviate the country’s economic distress.
“The Bank’s activities have a massive impact on Nigerians’ lives, and many people often do not realize the impact of a Central Bank’s work until it fails.” “I urged the new CBN leadership to work tirelessly to reduce the rate, which had severely impacted individual wealth,” Sanusi said.
Remember that Nigeria’s inflation rate continued to increase in September, reaching 26.72 percent.
