The Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has revealed intentions to redeploy the State Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Barde, ahead of Saturday’s governorship election in Imo State.
Egbetokun revealed that there have been complaints leveled against Barde, necessitating his reassignment.
On Sunday night, he appeared on ChannelsTV’s Peoples Townhall show.
On Saturday, the police chief also warned offenders to avoid Imo, Kogi, and Bayelsa States.
Saturday’s off-cycle election, according to Egbetokun, will not be business as usual.
He went on to say: “I am aware that there have been allegations on social media against the Commissioner of Police in Imo State but for this election, we are changing the commissioner of police in Imo.”
