Peter Akanni Akorede, a veteran juju musician known professionally as Emperor Pick Peter of the ‘Omode de’ renown, has died.
Pick Peters, 74, allegedly died on Thursday following a brief illness.
In a statement on her Facebook page, famous music promoter and Evergreen Music owner Bimbo Esho confirmed his death, writing, “Omo Ode Ti Ku – The Hunter’s Son is Dead.”
All Juju Music fans should recognize his name. Emperor Pick Peters, one of Nigeria’s greatest Juju artists, died Thursday in Abeokuta at the age of 74.
“May his Gentle Soul rest in peace.”
