President Bola Tinubu has delivered the All Progressive Congress, APC, symbolic flag to candidates running for governorship in Bayelsa, Kogi, and Imo states.
The President presented the flags to the candidates – Hope Uzodinma of Imo, Timipreye Sylva of Bayelsa, and Ahmed Ododo of Kogi – in the Presidential Villa Abuja on Thursday, wishing them success in the off-season elections on November 11.
Remember that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, set November 11, 2023 as the date for the three states’ off-season elections.
Abdullahi Ganduje, the APC’s National Chairman, accompanied the three candidates to the Presidential Villa, where the flags were presented to them.
“Your excellencies, particularly the governor of Kogi who is working hard to hand over to another product of our party, Usman Ododo, we’re happy to have you here,” Tinubu stated in a brief words.
“Hope Uzodinma, our party’s great hope and the Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum.” Thank you for the excellent work you’ve been doing.
“Timipre Sylva, congratulations on your accomplishments as a former governor and minister of petroleum resources.”
“We are all on a crusade for democracy, especially in this off-season election.” It is our aim, and my hope, that you will always come out on top.
“We beseech God Almighty to grant you victory.” Many thanks to our party’s leadership, the National Working Committee, and our tireless chairman. And thank you for what you do. So, I’m prepared.”
