Following a tanker explosion at a filling station in the Rigasa area of Igabi Local Government Area in Kaduna State on Wednesday, at least twenty people were injured.
Several people were injured in the incident, including bystanders, men from the Kaduna State Vigilante Service, and five firefighters.
Mr. Paul Aboi, the State Director of Fire Service, stated on Thursday that the fire service personnel are presently undergoing treatment at the Barau Dikko Specialist Hospital, located in Kaduna.
He clarified that on Wednesday, the incident occurred while the tanker was unloading gasoline.
He stated that the gasoline offloading shouldn’t have been done in the afternoon and attributed the incident to filing station negligence.
He advised gas station owners to dispose of their fuel at the proper hour, which is in the evening, to avoid risking their lives.
