Ambassador Abayomi Nurain Mumuni of the governing All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State has said that Thursday’s Supreme Court win will allow President Bola Tinubu to concentrate on administration.
According to reports, the Supreme Court affirmed the lower court’s verdict on Thursday, confirming Tinubu as the victor of the presidential election.
The petitions of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Mr. Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) were denied by the court.
Mumuni stated in response to the Supreme Court decision that the win will enable Tinubu and his team with the necessary attention to focus on their work of nation building.
Rasheed Abubakar, the one-time gubernatorial candidate of the defunct Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) in Lagos State, praised the courts for enhancing Nigeria’s democracy in a statement signed by his media aide.
He asked all stakeholders to work with the President to develop a stronger economy and a more powerful Nigeria.
He went on to say that national interests take precedence over local ones.
“This ruling is a triumph for the vast majority of Nigerian citizens who voted overwhelmingly for Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the ballot box,” he stated.
“I am relieved that the judiciary did not rely on emotions and sentiments, but instead focused on the facts of the case.”
“I heartily congratulate Mr. President and our party, the APC, on this significant victory.” It effectively ended the lengthy and arduous judicial struggle over the presidential election. This will undoubtedly provide the President and his staff with the concentration they require to focus on their goal of nation building.
“I urged all stakeholders to join hands with the President in building a stronger economy and greater Nigeria, noting national interest precedes any other parochial interests.”
