Prior to Nigeria’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches against Lesotho and Zimbabwe, Wilfred Ndidi has been added to the list of injured players.
The midfield player will be sidelined for a considerable amount of time due to a muscular injury, according to information released by Leicester City manager Enzo Maresca on Friday.
Maresca stated, “The only one is Wilf,” during his Friday pregame press conference.
“It appears to be more than just fatigue, as we initially assumed, so he will likely need to miss a few days or weeks of work.
It’s just a muscular issue that we dismissed as unimportant, nothing more. It’s not much, but I believe he will be absent for a few days or weeks at the very least.
Victor Osimhen, a forward for Napoli, is already out of the first two games because of a thigh injury.
Samuel Chukwueze, Taiwo Awoniyi, and Semi Ajayi are all questionable for the qualifiers.
