Victor Boniface, a forward for Bayern Leverkusen, received the 2022–2023 Europa League top scorer award on Thursday.
For Union SG, a Belgian club that advanced to the quarterfinals before losing to Leverkusen, Boniface scored an outstanding six goals.
The 22-year-old and Marcus Rashford, an England and Manchester United forward, shared the honor.
Since joining the Bundesliga team in the summer, the Super Eagles forward has been outstanding. On Thursday night at the Bay Arena, he continued this trend with a spectacular goal against Qarabag.
Boniface scored Leverkusen’s third goal of the match, and the team won 5-1 over Qarabag.
He has scored seven goals in the Bundesliga thus far this season, with Serhou Guirassy of VFB Stuggart scoring twice as many as Boniface.
