The age of talkshots is over, according to Interior Minister Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, and new hires must aim to ‘work the talk’.
As a Special Guest and keynote speaker at a breakfast meeting hosted by Business Day in Abuja, Tunji-Ojo said this.
“I have no justification at all for failing to safeguard the nation’s borders. President Bola Tinubu will address issues.
He remarked, “We must structure the discussion in accordance with the current administration’s theme of Renewed Hope.
The military, police, and other security personnel in any country that cannot manage its borders would constantly be under pressure, according to Tunji-Ojo, who also said that being able to control borders lowers insecurity by more than 70%.
He said that the Ministry of Interior is crucial to any country and added that, aside from the issuing of passports, he did not want to be known as the Minister who fixed passport issues since “there are bigger problems to solve.”
According to Tunji-Ojo, “also any country is prone to insecurity that cannot critically analyse, dictate and determine who comes in and who goes out of its country.”
