The release of N3.1 billion for the payment of retirement gratuities and death benefits to surviving family members under the Defined Benefit Scheme and the Contributory Pension Scheme has been authorized by Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani.
Muhammad Lawal Shehu, the governor’s chief press secretary, said this in a statement.
According to the report, Governor Sani remained dedicated to making sure that, upon retirement, those who dutifully served the State have full access to what is legally theirs.
The statement went on to say that the State Pension Bureau of the state government is steadfast in ensuring that these payments for gratuity and death benefits to beneficiaries in the state continue to be made.
“The release of these money will help to lessen the consequences that the current economic situation is having on people, especially the elderly who have retired from active duty.
The statement said, “The State Pension Bureau will release the complete list and details of beneficiaries in the upcoming days.”
