Traditional and community leaders have been tasked by the Bauchi State House of Assembly Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs to work with security forces to find those responsible for the deaths of certain local vigilantes in the state.
According to reports, nine members of the neighborhood watch organization Yan Ba Beli were massacred by alleged bandits last Sunday in Gamji village in the Ningi Local Government Area of Bauchi State.
According to reports, the robbers in the forest ambushed the vigilantes.
The accusation was given by the chairman of the house committee, the honorable Bala Abdullahi Dan, while paying a condolence call to the murdered vigilantes’ families.
The committee also advised traditional leaders to avoid selling or assigning property that may serve as a haven for criminal groups.
