The Lagos State Examinations Board has finalized plans for a one-day awareness-raising program to revalidate the examination codes of the state’s accredited public and private schools.
The program has been set for Thursday, October 26, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. in the Board’s Conference Room, according to a statement by the Director of the Board, Adebayo Orunsolu.
According to Orunsolu, the exercise’s goal was to inform and enlighten the invited associations about the necessity for the state’s public and accredited private schools to revalidate their examination codes.
He said the exercise will go a long way toward removing various codes that currently exist, facilitating accurate recordkeeping, and sanitizing school data in the board database.
The president and secretary of each of the under-listed associations, in particular, are expected to attend the sensitization event, he continued.
The National Association of Private School Owners, the Association of Islamic Model Schools, the League of Muslim Owners, the Association of Formidable Education Developers, and the Lagos State Baptist Conference were among the organizations the director mentioned as expecting.
The Lagos Methodist Schools, Christ Redeemers Schools Management, Catholic Mission Schools, Lagos Anglican Diocese, Association of International Schools Educators of Nigeria (AISEN), Accredited Private Schools Union (APSU), and Education Reformers Association of Nigeria are a few more.
In order to enable the schools under their control to participate in the exercise, which will be held from November 1 to November 15, the Board pleaded with the invited associations to inform them of the development.
“The verification process for the revalidation of Schools’ Examination Codes is set to take place at the Lagos State Examinations Board’s offices in Iyana Ipaja, Lagos, for two (2) weeks.
In addition, there are organizations like the Lagos Methodist Schools, Christ Redeemers Schools Management, Catholic Mission Schools, Lagos Anglican Diocese, Association of International Schools Educators of Nigeria (AISEN), Accredited Private Schools Union (APSU), and Education Reformers Association of Nigeria.
The Board appealed with the invited associations to notify them of the development in order to allow the schools under their supervision to participate in the exercise, which will take held from November 1 to November 15.
“For a period of two (2) weeks, the verification procedure for the revalidation of Schools’ Examination Codes would be conducted in the offices of the Lagos State Examinations Board in Iyana Ipaja, Lagos.
Additionally, a duplicate of the previous payment receipts, the School Code payment receipt, the School Code approval letter, and the payment receipts for the most recent exam.
To ensure the success of the activity, the Board further requested the assistance of all concerned State stakeholders.
