Taking on the re-construction of the Eti-Osa-Lekki-Epe Expressway (Phase IIB) in the Eti-Osa and Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Areas, Craneburg Construction Company Limited, a top construction company in Nigeria, has assured all stakeholders and Lagosians of its commitment to the project’s timely completion under a reliable traffic management system.
The business further indicated in a statement released on Wednesday that it would keep cooperating with the appropriate government entities to ensure that the construction activities would have as little of an impact as possible on commuters and the neighborhood.
According to the statement, “Craneburg continues to collaborate with the Lagos State Government through the relevant Ministries, Departments and Agencies, and other bodies, including the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, the Nigeria Police Force, and the Neighborhood Watch, to ensure minimal impact of the construction works on the daily lives of the road users and the surrounding communities.
It is important to keep in mind that there may occasionally be traffic detours, as is customary for road construction projects of the scale of the Project, which will reduce the total number of lanes available to road users at one time. Additionally, the frequent breakdowns and accidents involving heavy-duty trucks, which make up a significant portion of the traffic on that axis, negatively impact the flow of traffic on the already congested lanes and occasionally cause bottlenecks.
In order to lessen the effects of the aforementioned, measures put in place as part of the Project to facilitate traffic flow include: the necessary deployment of road signs and diversion barriers; ensuring that some lanes are always accessible for use during construction and that such lanes are free of potholes; the implementation of an accelerated and strategic daytime and nighttime works execution program; the deployment of well-motivated and trained workers; and
The foregoing is attested to by the graphic representations of the historical and present conditions of the road under the Project that are presented below.
“The esteemed road users are hereby encouraged to continue to be forgiving, cooperative, and to refrain from taking any acts that might have a negative impact on the project’s traffic management. These behaviors include disregarding traffic laws and signage, failing to follow the rules and instructions of traffic control officials, breaking down on the road and obstructing traffic, etc.
“The Project, which is expected to be delivered and completed early, is still commendable and valuable to everyone.
The statement said, “While the Project is ongoing, we continue to seek the understanding and cooperation of road users.”
