If Peter Obi doesn’t address the claim that he used his late brother’s credentials, a group of the Labour Party, LP, has threatened to suspend him as the party’s presidential candidate for 2023.
If Obi doesn’t address the questions raised by the inconsistencies in his academic credentials within 48 hours, he would be suspended, according to the Lamidi Apapa wing of the party.
According to a statement by the faction’s spokesman, Abayomi Arabambi, Obi has to address the claim that he impersonated his late elder brother.
The spokesman for the Peter Obi/Datti Ahmed presidential campaign committee, Tanko Yinusa, was criticized by Arabambi for saying that the allegations that Obi was mimicking his late older brother was a hoax.
The Labour Party intends to get an answer to the following question at this time, according to Arabambi: Who is this said older brother of Peter Obi who studied computer science?
When did Peter Obi’s elder brother pass away? What name appeared on the certificates from your secondary school and the University of Nigeria Nsukka? What kind of business does his brother have? Where can I get Peter Obi’s birth record? What name appeared on Peter Obi’s birth record?
“Why is his birth certificate name different from his school certificate name? Why is his name different on his school certificate than it is on his UNN certificate? Which university organized Peter Obi’s one-year NYSC requirement? Why is the name on his University of Nigeria Nsukka certificate different from the one on his NYSC certificate?
He claims that “one would have expected Peter Obi to expose his genuine identity and spare our party from additional unneeded national disgrace by giving Nigerians a satisfactory solution as to the reasons for the explicit anomalies in his academic records.
“But rather than accept the challenge, his attack dog descended to the political somersault arena, leaving facts to promote audio fiction, thus confirming our position that Peter Obi is using the name and certificate of his deceased elder brother,” the author writes.
Arabambi said that it is important to first make it apparent to the general public that Obi has not shown any proof to support the claims of forgery, impersonation, and discrepancies on his school, University of Nigeria Nsukka, and NYSC certificates.
The Labour Party also demanded to know why Mr. Obi only felt it appropriate and necessary to submit his WAEC transcript, even though he did not receive the minimal number of credit passes in both mathematics and English, which are prerequisites for admission to any Nigerian university.
Instead of using coercion and pointless feelings, the Labour Party is also requesting that Mr. Peter Obi explain the circumstances that led to him using multiple identities at various schools and on official papers.
“We want Mr. Peter Obi to respond to each of the inquiries mentioned above in order to dispel any lingering doubts about him.
He warned that if he didn’t comply with this within the following 48 hours, the Labour Party will suspend him.
