Hajiya Huriya Dauda Lawal, the wife of the governor of Zamfara State, has denounced the alarming frequency with which bandits abduct students at the Federal University of Gusau.
When the Governor’s wife paid a formal visit to the institution’s management, she complained that pupils can’t focus in an unsafe setting.
The First Lady expressed sympathy to the university’s administration, employees, parents, and all of the students.
I truly apologize to each and every one of the daughters of this wonderful school for my tardiness due to unforeseen circumstances.
“The administration under my husband is not resting on its oars; it is restructuring its security architecture to flush out bandits’ activities from the State,” the woman stated.
She said that many security agencies were working together to control the situation and safely rescue the remaining pupils.
“I’m asking you pupils to stay alert at all times and report any suspicious activity. I also want to suggest that the management grow the staff,” she continued.
