The National Assembly, according to a former minister of education named Oby Ezekwesili, is the largest threat to Nigeria’s democracy.
Ezekwesili made the statement in response to the idea of MPs purchasing 360 Toyota SUVs.
The former minister issued a warning via X, claiming that Nigerians will soon expel senators and House of Representatives members because of their pattern of misbehavior.
“So that frustrating news turned out to be true,” Ezekwesili stated.
“I read the very absurd and dishonest statement made by the @HouseNGR spokesman on their callous purchase of 360 Toyota SUVs for themselves.
“You all have the arrogance to spend limited public resources on expensive automobiles while the majority of their population are struggling to pay for food, transportation, school costs, and medical expenses?
“At this point, it is clear that you wish to keep up your pattern of poor behavior.
“Please know that you all are the biggest threat to our democracy since not even one of you @nassnigeria @HouseNGR @NGRSenate understood the callousness of that choice to acquire 360 new Toyota SUVs for yourself at this time of extreme economic misery of the public and country.
Just be aware that the day will come, and it will happen very soon, when it will be your irate Nigerian citizens, not the military, who will rise up and force all of you criminally negligent and insensitive individuals out of power. And very soon as well.
