Alhaji Mohammed Idris, the minister of information and national orientation, claims that President Bola Tinubu gave him the responsibility to promote patriotism, honesty, and openness as the administration’s guiding principles.
In an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Abuja, the Minister disclosed this.
He claims that the goal of President Bola Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope Agenda” is to transform Nigeria’s unfavorable reputation in the eyes of the international community.
He gave me the task of ensuring that Nigerians be reoriented during our brief stay, so that, at the very least, we can regain our sense of purpose as a country and start moving in the right direction.
It’s a huge challenge. You are aware that moral degradation affects all socioeconomic classes in the nation, not just young people.
“I believe this was the driving force behind the president’s decision to rename the Ministry of Information and Culture as the Ministry of Information and National Orientation.
Idris interpreted this as the president wanting to prioritize matters related to orientation and reorientation.
The Minister went on to say that some of the characteristics that Tinubu is ardently advocating include patriotism, honesty, and transparency.
He declared, “He has given us a marching order to see that those ideals are promoted, put on the forefront, and communicated to the majority of Nigerians for the sake of all.
